Homes For HAITI Stuck In Customs

    August 1, 2010 // No Comments »

Hello everyone, It’s been a while.

Here is an update on the Homes for Haiti project. Although the first of the homes have made it to Haiti, they are still waiting to be released by customs. Almost two months now and they are still sitting there helping no one. Aaarrrgh!!!!

Tom will be facing his second knee replacement on August 24, so it doesn’t look like he will be able to go when the homes are released.

Be in prayer for the Homes, that they will actually make it to theose that need them. Also, remember Tom and his healing.

Hope your summer is going well.  Ours has been hot.

    Love to all,

    Tom and Kathy Hoke

    March 19-20 Work Days

    March 15, 2010 // No Comments »

We will be working Friday and Saturday at the homes for Haiti site. If you can join us it would be appreciated. We have a small team of young people coming from Stephenville.

We are running a little low on donations for producing these homes. If you would like to sponsor a home they cost around $600 each to produce. If you would like to make a donation you can use the button on the right bar of this page or you can contact us through our contacts page.

    CORE - Shelters For Haiti

    March 9, 2010 // No Comments »

We are setup to build the shelters so they can be site erected.  There are stations set up for different parts, walls, floors, bunks, and roof.  These will be shipped (IKEA style) and put together in Haiti. So it’s like a DIY house. Once it reaches Haiti all they will have to do is screw the pieces together. So each row of tables is doing something different.

    Homes for Haiti

    March 2, 2010 // 1 Comment »

FDS has partnered with Core Alliance to help build temporary homes for the folks in Haiti. This will replace the tents and act as a safe haven during the rainy season. We would like to put together a team to work one night a week. They are using the old Academy building in League City as the assembly warehouse. That is where we will be working. Let us know if you can help and what day of the week is best. Even if it’s just a night team, let us know. If each church would like to a part of this and bring in a team, let us know. If you would like to donate to the cause, send your donation to FDSTA at 925 E Walker St. League City Texas 77573 or use the link on this web site. The cost per home is $600 but any donation will be appreciated. Right now they (CORE) will have people at the location every Wed night and Saturday for anyone wanting to help.

See below for CORE Sheet: (more…)
