FDS-Tx Area is still working with several Christian disaster organizations at a warehouse in League City building Homes for Haiti. I have attached a flyer that explains. These temporary sleeping quarters can sleep a family of up to 12 people. Each home is 8′ x 10′ with two built-in bunks. This building will get them off the ground and provide a roof over their heads for the rainy season. We are looking for volunteers and funding. $600 will cover the materials for a home. We are also trying to find shipping for the homes. Those that were on board at the beginning of the project have now bowed out. If you know of anyone who could help in securing shipment, please let us know.
The most important thing that we are asking for is prayer. Pray for the safety of volunteers as they build, pray for the hearts of those that can provide the shipping, pray for those who are going over to Haiti to assemble the homes, and pray for the people that will inhabit these homes. May our Lord bless them through the work that is being done in His name for His glory.
Pray that the Lord reveals to you how He wants you to be a part of this ministry to the Haitians. We have contacted Eastern Region to work with the missionaries in Haiti.
